The first of many to come, the Blues Belfast Juke Joint is back! Join us on Saturday 3rd March as we pay tribute to the finest era in history!
As close as it gets to an authentic Juke Joint, vintage dancers and rustic Blues music will take you back in time to the old cotton fields of the Delta and the Deep South along the mighty Mississippi. With live music from Voodoo Blue sit back with a Jack and Coke and let the sound of the Blues sink into your soul.
If sitting back ain’t your thing, Blues Belfast will give you some old moves to get you Jukin’ on the dance floor. This very special pre gig taster class will be inspired by the original music of the prison and railroad workers which laid the foundations for Blues music as we know it today. During this time we aim to tell the story of the progression of Blues and the beautiful dance styles which accompanied it.
We’ve got THREE vintage Blues and Jazz DJs hitting the decks on the night: Dapper Dee, Roxy Blues and Jailhouse Duke who will provide you with old school Blues and many a prohibition era Jazz track to keep the Joint a hoppin’.
So polish your boots, tighten your braces and don those glad rags, we want to see your finest vintage attire bringing the Joint right back to its roots!
8pm to 9pm:
